The Q Grader taster

The Q Grader taster is a professional trained to evaluate and certify the COFFEE QUALITY. The title of Q Grader is the highest international recognition for a cupper and allows him/her to work in many areas of the coffee environment.

This level of certification is obtained by passing a CQI (Coffee Quality Institute) course using the SCA cupping protocol. This system establishes a common language to talk about coffee quality along the whole chain, from producers to consumers.

According to the SCA, Q-Graders must calibrate their palates every 3 years to maintain the validity of this certificate. This ensures the stability and reliability of the coffee scores.

These cuppers are indispensable in the coffee industry. Their assessments help to set the price of speciality coffee, select the right roast profile for each bean and provide a fresh point of view in different areas of the coffee chain.
